Narrow Minded (poetry)

Written by: Julia Salice

When I look around I notice the faces of people going by, some I know but many I don’t know.  Many of those faces are despondent and filled with despair.  Those smiling eyes hide a thousand lies.  That conspicuous smile hides a million cries.  Everyone else never notices anything, they take everything for granted.  While I show gratitude and prosperity.  I will become strong from all these obstacles.  I will rise above.  I will overcome all the heartache and suffering that is in this world.  I won’t fall. . . I won’t let you hold me down, I refuse to live such a sad life.  I am much more than that.  And in the end, I will come out victorious.  I won’t let the narrow-minded takeover, I won’t.  They will diminish before me.  I will conquer anyone that gets in my way.
